Day 1: Budapest

The arrival day is usually a boring day during travels. I can promise not with us! Welcome in our capital city, Budapest. It is called the Paris of the east with a reason. The Danube river cuts the city into two parts with different athmosphere. Here meets the east with the west. Ruin pubs, excellent art exhibitions and history on every corner. You can take a close look who are we Hungarians. Have a nice walk with us and forget about the boring sightseeing tours. We show you where the locals go and the treasures of our capital city.

Day 2: Budapest-Visegrád Szentendre

The renaissance castle of our most beloved king, Mathias was bulit In Visegrád. We use a wing boat from Budapest on the Danube to occupy this fortress. There is a nice hiking trail to the top from where you can see why is it a special place for us. The lunch is in the forest at a charming small restaurant. All the fish come from their lake in the neighbourhood and caught on the very same day to finish on your plate. This day’s highlight is the biking trough the Visegrád forest to the Szentendre Island. Quiet route back to the river, just you, the bike and the nature. The city of Szentendre is the home of the artist, painters with its unique mediterranian athmosphere. Narrow cobblestoned streets invite you for a walk. We finish our day on the largest island on river Danube where the time stops.

Day 3: Szentendrei Island

The Szentenre Island is a preserved and beautiful area, bikers favourite place. Big enough to make a 50 km long trip around it. Stop at the hidden beaches on a warm summer day, grab a big ice cold beer and watch how the Danube flows and listen to the birds singing. We stop at a family owned Hungarian restaurant for lunch. You have to see how we treat guests from abroad. The owner will feed you like your own grandmother with the Hungarian specialities. Small paths and the nature will be our partner on this day. The highlight is not one big thing on this day. No Eiffel Tower or Statue of Liberty, just the good old Hungarian countryside, houses, people, hidden paths, the river and great food and wine. The surprise waits for you in the hotel: a cooking course where you will make your own traditional Hungarian dessert next to the dinner. Laugh is guaranteed.

Day 4: Szentendre-Eger/Egerszalók

This day the secret will revealed why do we call our most famous red wine bulls blood. If you like red wine you will appreciate this medieval city, Eger. We show you our countries best red wines, not just bulls blood. We promise you never heard about the wine cellars we visit but you will never forget them after the tour. As further we go from the capital as more you will understand our history and experience the real Hungary. Tons of history, Turkish heritage, a castle which every Hungarian knows and Bulls Blood for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If this was not enough you can relax in the thermal bath at the end of the day.

Day 5: Eger/Bogács

We will stuck in Eger Wine region for a reason. There are so many nice winecellars and places you must see. Next to this you can’t drink enough from the wine of your youth where it is made. Today a nice bike ride waits for you at the skirt of the Bükk mountain and National Park. Small villages and quiet paths will surrounding our way. After the biking we stop and hop in the thermal water in Bogács to gain some power for the dinner and of course for a fantastic wine tasting. We will visit another winery which represents the new wave of the Hungarian wine making. It is interesting how we turn back to the roots before communism and combine that experience with the new generations fresh ideas and technology.

Day 6: Eger-Tokaj-Eger

If you are in East Hungary you can’t miss Tokaj Wine. If you ask people around the world about Hungarian wine, Tokaj wine will be their first guess. This is not an accident. The whole harvesting and the complicated process how they make this wine has not changed in the last 500 years. Experience why was this the favourite wine of Louis XIV in France, Voltaire, Goethe, Schubert, Peter the Great in Russia… Meet the eastern Hungarian hospitality and on the way back to Eger jump in a cave bath in Miskolctapolca.

Day 7: Eger-Budapest

We finish our tour in Budapest. You could say, again? Yes, because have you been in the amazing Opera House, ate the menu of the 70’-s Hungary, saw what and how did the communist during that 40 years, travelled on the first Underground in continental Europe, had a candle light dinner on river Danube? I could continue the list but for one day it will be more than enough. Don’t be afraid if you just want to taste home made beer in a ruin pub while the ladies are shopping, we are your men to join ϑ
